Bits & Bytes Farm news

UPDATE 5-05-02
NEW HORSES!!
Of the new horses we brought in last week one is pending sale and one was returned. Read about our newest horse below.

Sometimes horses never make it to the Web site. We always have horses not on the site that are at the farm. If you call, we can tell you if we have a horse that might be just the right match for you.

Check out the newz page to find out what's been happening at Bits & Bytes Farm. The new layout makes it easier to look up past stories.

Zulu
Zulu is our watch dog. He has been busy "watching" the construction of the school next door. Barry is going to buy Zulu mud flaps.

Welcome to Bits & Bytes Farm on the Web. Take a virtual tour of the farm and see the beautiful thoroughbreds we have for sale. Follow their training and learn how we bring them from racetrack to a new career in the show ring, fox hunting or eventing.

If you already have a horse and are looking for a place to board, visit our Boarding Page and our Amenities Page for photos and more information. See also photos of the farm and our horses for sale.

Big Money bought by Dutch Import
Now that's a twist. Gertjan van Roekel and his wife Marie are the proud new owners of Big Money. Gertjan is well over six feet tall so Big Money is just the right size for him at 17+ hands high. Marie is a wee bit smaller but handles Big Mo just fine. Gertjan and Marie are Web developers, so we have a lot in common. They met over the Internet and Marie imported Gertjan to the US. We are thrilled to have them join the Bits & Bytes Farm family. Big Money will not have to leave his pasture buddies as he will remain boarded at Bits & Bytes Farm. Watch for an even better Web site with Gertjan and Marie making suggestions.

New horses arriving each week
There is a new "Irish twin" due in this week. He is a 17 hand, 5 year old gelding that has been lightly raced. He is a grandson of Alydar, just like Fame. His family tree includes: Roberto, Hail to Reason, Nashua, Tom Fool, Native Dancer, Raise a Native, Nashrullah, Ribot, Nearco, Polynesiaion, Grey Sovereign and Turn-to. All these horses are in the 100 most influential sires of thoroughbred breeding. He needs weight but is friendly and well behaved. When they first arrive the prices are the lowest. Watch for more photos soon.

Twins
Which one is already at Bits & Bytes Farm? One is Irish when he was at the track and the other horse will be in this week from Kentucky.

We also have two other horses that have not yet made the Web site. One is a horse we brought back from the track two years ago.He has been with a friend to rest and relax and do trail riding. Back in the Future is being readied for sale. We think he will make an excellent dressage horse. He is an eight year old, 16.2 hand dark bay gelding. More soon.

Max is an off-the-track appaloosa (photos soon). Yes, he is off-the-track. As a pony horse, Max spent his mornings galloping the thoroughbreds and his afternoons leading the horses to the post. He is extremely well trained. He knows his leads, rides English and Western and has extensively trail ridden. He will ground tie in the middle of the busy track if his rider asks him to. He is the perfect pleasure horse. Max loads, ties and clips. He was sent to us by his trainer (of Lord Sexton) because he does not like the jockey's kicking him in the flanks on their way to the races. He is a big love demanding attention all the time.

Please call us to discuss which horse might be the best match for you based on riding skill, experience and equine personality. We do not send out videos because it is important to match the personality of the horse with the personality of the rider. We are matchmakers, not horse brokers. We have horses in a wide price range. Call us to discuss prices. We'd love to have you come meet all of our horses--we know that it will be worth your time. Just bring peppermints!

DELTA has a new Lower Price!
