Reign Day's canter is like being on a rocking horse.
I cantered Reign Day for the first time yesterday. He was like a rocking horse!
I like to take it slow with the horses we get off-the-track. Reign Day was weak on the back end when he finished racing. This is typical for a horse off-the-track. Add to that the fact that he is young and still growing and you have a horse that needs to build strength and balance to be able to canter with a rider in a small arena. At the track, the tightest turn he did was a quarter mile wide.
