Creator was a former Bargain
Barn horse becuase he had a chip on
the side of his knee. He was sound with the chip but we did not want
to misrepresent him so he was placed on our Bargain
Barn page. He was purchased by Linnea Boyce and her mom Cheryl
Knobloch. This is their fourth horse purchased with
the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm. Other horses include: Artrageous,
Alaskan Crown, Foxy
Dixie and now Creator.
Alaskan Crown and Foxy
Dixie are for sale at Fox Haven Farm in Jennings,

Hi Elizabeth,
Lots of things with Creator today. I bondered him
this morning. I was aghast when Monica told me she always had a chain
IN HIS MOUTH when handling him. Scary- but turns out probably not
necessary. Unfortunately it is often easier to use a chain than to
train for ground manners. Bondering him today for 45 minutes changed
his mentality completely, at least for today, and I was not successful
in getting him to completely join up. It will happen with not too
much more work. Kids came by tonight on horses to see our newest
stallion and he was the perfect gentleman with a cotton leadrope.
He is very tender in front because Monica had his shoes pulled
and a close trim done before he shipped. We will have to put shoes
back on in front before we can really work him, but Linnea rode him
for the first time today. She talked to Monica who said they never
had any issues with him under saddle, in fact he was/is far more
mannerly under saddle than from the ground. He tried to talk to girls
in the side pasture across the fence from the arena one time, Linnea
corrected him, and he never offered anything but long looks after
that. Walked, trotted, and got some nice bending turns even on tender
front feet; walked him over single caveletti and he just asked "why" every
time. We will see how he does when his front feet don't hurt.
I just saw where you asked for pix of the three of us - maybe we
can get some this weekend. By the way, the kids absolutely loved
him. He is such a tank - sticks at 15.2hh. He really has no filling
out to do so hopefully will grow UP some more this year. Waiting
to hear from Dr. Calahan at U.F. re his xrays which I mailed Monday.
Thank you for your assistance in bringing Creator here.

Elizabeth's Note: Creator was most
likely a handful at the track because he did not ever get
turned out in a paddock.
His owner, Monica, had a Jolly ball for him and
also gave Creator a towel to play with.
In February 2007, we watched Creator play with
a hand towel for 20 minutes. He would toss it in the air and
then grab it in is mouth. Sometimes the towel would end up
landing on his back. He would grab it and give it a good shake.
Creator is just three years old and has a lot of growing to
do.

E!
Well, we finally got some pictures of Creator (aka Creature). He
REALLY needs some manners, but other than that so far so good. I
worked with him in the round pen for about ½ hour and he was
listening really well by the end of his lesson. His feet are much
less sore today and he’s moving better. We have sent his X-rays
to UF and will hopefully hear from them by the end of the week. He
is built so nicely I am really hoping that he will be sound enough
to event, but he is already a handful as a stallion at only three
years old so it may be better if he is gelded than to keep him intact.
If his knee is fixable I think I’ll go ahead get him gelded.
If not he will stay a stallion and be resold as such. I’ve
attached the pictures that we took this morning and I’ll keep
you updated about his knee as we get news.
Also...I’ll be competing Artrageous at Poplar Place May 5-6. I looked at the entry status
yesterday and Amanda and Grayboo will
be there as well so maybe you guys can come down?
Talk to you later! Linnea
Elizabeth's Note: We hope to be at the Poplar
Place Horse Trials in May 5 - 6, 2007. Look for us and cheer on the
horses of Bits & Bytes Farm: Artrageous( Beginner
Novice), Grayboo (Novice)
and Captain
Arias (Prelim) are all entered. Come say hello
to me - I'll be the woman with the camera and the big proud and happy
smile watching our friends and horses competing.

Hi Elizabeth,
Received your CD today of Artrageous' photos.
There are some fabulous pix there. Thank you so much. Can add it
to Arty's scrapbook.
Creator has settled in and showing his sore front feet. Monica
had his shoes removed and a close trim done. He won't be moving
freely for about a week, probably. We will try to get some standing
pix today - but no moving pix until he stops walking on eggshells.
He certainly is a tank. Can't wait to see him really moving.
Monica said she always handled him with a chain through his mouth.
We don't think that will be necessary after we do some ground work
with him, but he will probably never be as easy to handle as
Arty - most horses of any sex are not.
Thanks again. We will stay in touch. T

Creator's Bargain Barn photo - January 2007.
This was the text from the Bargain Barn listing for Creator in
January 2007
Creator is just three this year and he
is already done racing due to a small chip on the outside of his
knee. It does not bother him. It needs to be removed before it
does any damage. His owner does not have the time to allow for the
operation and layup and so he must be sold. He will be 100% after
the chip is removed.
Creator is a gorgeous colt! He loves to train and he has only raced
five times. He is 15.2 hands and he is still growing. Creator is
a real black horse for sale and he has two white rear socks and a
beautiful star.
Congratulations to Cheryl Knobloch and Linnea Boyce of Fox Haven Farm in
Jennings, FL on the purchase of Creator.
