Snowdance KidSnowdance Kid is showing great potential as an event horse. He is a dream to ride. He his smart and willing and learns quicker than any horse we have ever had in training. "Kid" has filled out and has a nice solid build. He is quickly becoming a favorite of the "Friends of Bits & Bytes Farm" to ride. We can hardly believe he is just five! Update: February 3, 2006"I just had to tell you about my ride on Kid last night! He was so great! As you know, it was misty and really windy last night when we made it out to the ring. Kid was listening to everything, and taking notes about anything that might "come and get him" when we first started out, but he was also really listening to me." "We walked the around for a few minutes, just taking it all in and adjusting to the wind, and then started trot work. He started out a little inspired with the wind, but soon settled down. His trotting was rythmical and balanced, we worked on circles and bending lines, going across the diagonal, and working on and off the rail. He zeroed in on my aides and completely tuned out the weather. Every now and then Sydney or Zulu (our Dobermans) would go zooming by, and he'd look up for a minute, and then go right back to a metronome-even trot." "What a great ride! We went in the French-link bridle without a martingale. There were times when I wondered if I needed to get him to pick up his head he went so relaxed! I can't wait to work with him again! What a great guy!!" Update April 4, 2006Just wanted to let you know I had a great ride on Snowdance Kid. He is really starting to "get it". His whole attitude towards work has changed lately, especially his lunging. He seems very content. I have introduced him to side-reins on the lunge and they are really helping him to accept the bit more. While riding I have been working hard on getting him to move away from my leg. That has definitely progressed. His trot work was wonderful last night. I worked him on a circle, getting him to move out and stay on a big circle. He was really reaching down into the contact and moving forward willingly. I felt it was a great success! - Paula Current Training
