Te Conquistar now known as Mactavish successfully competes in his first combined training event. Notice is new well muscled body.
November 2003 - Our first ride.
Te Conquistar
"Oh Tay" is five years old and drop dead gorgeous! He looks like he could be a stud. He is dark bay with a milk mustache and two white socks. He stands about 16.1+.
My first ride on him was in the arena with lots of colorful jumps. He was not the least bit afraid on any of them and by the end of the first ride he was jumping a triple combination of low cross rails! See the photo above. I then took him out on the trails to cool down and we stepped over logs and walked through mud and climbed the hills. "Tay" was very relaxed the whole time. This is a horse that will be very easy to train.
Current Training
- Currently going quietly under saddle in the arena and on the trails - walk trot and canter.
- He is not spooked by bulldozers or large grading equipment or jumps in the arena.
- He is a very well balanced mover.
- He has a good mind and is not spooky.
- He could be a dressage or x-country prospect.
- He is already comfortable jumping x-rails.
- He is ridden in a snaffle bit.
