Welcome to Bits & Bytes Farm on the Web. Take a virtual tour of the farm and see the beautiful thoroughbreds we have for sale. Follow their training and learn how we bring them from racetrack to a new career in the show ring, fox hunting or eventing. Bits & Bytes Farm OTTTBs attend the Imtiaz Anees clinic Imtiaz Anees organized a successful a clinic last weekend (January 17th & 18th) at Rock Horse Riding Center in Senoia, Georgia. The clinic was full of students and full of enthusiasm. Each participant had four lessons over two days: two jumping lessons with Imti and two dressage lessons with Gigi Nutter. The rain held off till Saturday night and cleared out by Sunday morning leaving only a muddy but surprising non slippery jumping arena. The "Famous" Broadway Joe and Te Conquistare (now named Mactavish) were the off-the-track Thoroughbreds who represented Bits & Bytes Farm at the clinic. Both horses were transistioned from track to new careers through Bits & Bytes Farm. They were on their best behavior and demonstrated that not all off-the-track horses are "hot" or "crazy". Most of the time between lessons they could be found standing on loose reins while their moms relaxed and enjoyed meeting new friends or learning from Imtiaz.
This was Te Conquistare's first experience away from the farm doing "Sport Horse" training. It was Leighton's first dressage lesson and Te Conquistare's first as well.
Bits & Bytes Farm boarders also attend the Imtiaz Anees clinic Mandy Collins and her former race horse (Appendix Quarterhorse) Intrepid Trey show just how successfully former race horses can transistion to "Sport Horse". Mandy and Trey wowed Gigi Nutter with their dressage and Trey showed just how much "scope" he has for jumping. This pair will go far. We expect to see Mandy earn her "A" rating in Pony Club on this pretty boy.
Also attending the clinic was our boarder Columbus with his rider Jessica. They are a fearless duo. "Pony" as Jessica calls Columbus was determined to show the big horses that he could jump just as high!
We are very proud of the horses and riders from Bits & Bytes Farm. They understand the importance of training and realize that you can learn something from every trainer. We encourage our boarders to take lessons and attend clinics from many trainers. It is also important to get away from the farm. That is an important part of our horses' training. They must be as well behaved away, as they are at home. Our boyz were, and we are proud of them! Go to Imtiaz's Web site for more photos from the clinic Captain Arias is for sale! Captain Arias was the first horse Elizabeth found at the race track when she went looking for a horse to fox hunt. Captain is truly the horse that started it all. Elizabeth saw many horses that needed a good home on her buying trip weekend. When she flew home from looking for a horse, she sent out an e-mail letting everyone know about the beautiful horses at the track needing new careers. She was going back to get Captain with a four horse trailer. The response was tremendous and it was the beginning of Bits & Bytes Farm reselling Thoroughbreds. She did five trips that first year and brought back nineteen horses. Read more on Captain's story. Also, read more Captain Arias stories listed on our Newz page. He has a page of photos as well. Elizabeth enjoys starting these horses fresh off the track. We could not get homes for so many horses without the help of our friends. Bits & Bytes Farm has many people helping to exercise and train our horses. Elizabeth is the first to get on the horses (with Barry holding the lunge line) to start their basic training. As the training progesses Elizabeth engages others to add their special touch and training to the horses. Imtiaz will be taking Captain Arias to train and compete in Florida during the month of February. He is taking several students with him and has just a few slots more open. Details are on his Web site. www.imtiazanees.com. Two horses on our Prospect Horses Page Watch our Prospect Horses page to see what we have lined up at the race tracks. Call for more information on these horses. Details soon on the Prospect page. We hope to bring them in as soon as we find homes for the ones currently in training at Bits & Bytes Farm.
