Bob Walker - Huntsman

Bob Walker is “Going Home”

Bob Walker - Huntsman

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Bob Walker. He heard his final call for “Going Home” while surrounded by his family. It is a significant loss to the foxhunting community in both the US and Ireland. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Walkers. Many of you may remember Bob, who with his wife Mary, provided loyal hunt service to both the Shamrock Hounds and later the Bear Creek Hounds.

Bob passed away on Tuesday afternoon surrounded by his family. Bob’s loss touches both the foxhunting community in the US and in Ireland. Please keep the Walkers in your thoughts and prayers.

Funeral arrangements are currently being made. Bob will be “Going to Ground” this weekend in Stradbally, County – Waterford, Ireland. He is being flown home where is life will be celebrated with a  Traditional Irish Wake followed by a Proper Hunt Servant’s Funeral. Upon her return from Ireland, Mary intends to hold a local memorial service.

In honor of Bob and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hound Welfare Fund at http://www.houndwelfarefund.org
