Our hOur Horses > success stories > El PiassoEl Piasso aka "Picasso"May 11, 2006El Piasso aka "Picasso" aka "Elmo" has been trained by Shannon Venezia for eventing and resold to Sandy Felker. Here is what his newest mom has to say about this beautiful horse.El Piasso (Elmo) is doing just great. He's a natural eventer. He's just as brave as they come and he's been in the ribbons every time out. He won at his very first show at the Virginia Starter Trials in March; got 5th at his next one and got a 3rd in Novice at Frying Pan Park this past weekend with a 26.5 in dressage!!!! I think he'll be able to do Training Level with no problem. And who knows, maybe he'll surprise us and be a prelim. horse afterall. In the meantime, I'm having a wonderful time with him. I have a great picture from one of our events that I need to scan. I'll get that to you as soon as I can. I'll be in touch again soon. August 2005
Piasso is doing wonderfully and I am planning on taking him to his first show on the 14th. He is such a goof-ball he loves to play with anything he can reach and he also loves to splash around in our pond. Shannon Venezia June 21, 2005We had arranged for vet checks, gathered the Jockey Club papers, coggins and health certificates for the the horses we found to purchase at the track. We loaded up the first two and set out to pick up El Piasso who was at a nearby Kentucky horse farm.Elizabeth gave a quick call back to the farm to check on messages and there was one from Shannon Venezia calling about a prospect horse. She quickly returned her call only to learn that Shannon wanted El Piasso for herself! We returned to the farm and took some more photos and close ups of him with our cell phone adn sent them to Shannon.
Shannon said she wanted to buy him have could we have him shipped from Kentucky directly to Virginia to save costs? We made arrangements for him to stay at the farm until he could be picked up by a commercial hauler on Monday. El Piasso is now in Virginia with his new mom! Congratulations Shannon on a fantastic purchase!Former Bits & Bytes Farm Prospect Horse - El Piasso
