We have two MORE new horses as of July 15, 2005
Aly's Charmer is our newest bay boy. He is just three and already well over 16 hands.
Painted Dancer was quickly purchased before even reaching our Prospect Horses page. Ashley Rogers was in communication with us on two other prospects when we receive photos of Painted Dancer. She was quick to act and got herself a gorgeous horse at a fantastic price!
Chick's Hope in April at the track.
Dr. Jennifer Dunlap has purchased her second Prospect Horse or her third horse from Bits & Bytes Farm; Wiseguy's Out , Chick's Hope and now Urca mother of Austin's Wolf who was a Prospect Horse a few weeks ago.
Shannon Darby bought Missilery as a Prospect Horse last week. She too was in communication with us when we received his photos from our contact at the track. Missilery is now jumping. Watch for his Success Story page this week.

SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!
Equine vet Dr.Jennifer Dunlap (she purchased -Wiseguy's Out and gray Prospect Mare Chick's Hope) has gone for just one more Prospect Mare - URCA!
Urca is the mom of Austin's Wolf who was purchased as a Prospect Horse by Kriston Glusko a few weeks ago. Kriston joined us on this trip to meet "Wolfie's" mom and to watch our trainers competiting in Lexington, KY at the Champagne Run 3-day event. Dr. Jennifer Dunlap is starting an Irish Draft Sport Horse breeding program. She is buying all the big boned beautiful mares we've had on our Prospect Horses page so you better call ASAP if you see a big mare you like on our Web site! We placed another Prospect Horse who never even made it to the Prospect Horses page. We had been communicating by e-mail and phone with Ashley Rogers of Powder Springs and Athens, GA. She needed a big horse (she is 5'9" tall) but she had a short horse budget.
Ashley told us what she needed and last Wednesday one of our contacts sent us photos of a big, beautiful 16.3+ hand bay gelding by the name of Painted Dancer. We quickly forwarded the photos on to Ashley and she said she wanted him. With that sale confirmed, Urca's sale pending and a lead on a 16.1 hand bay three year-old, we planned a short notice trip to the several farms in Kentucky and to the track to prospect and pick up more horses.
The three year old bay gelding was at a farm near Louisville. We had our vet check him out. Our decision to pick him up too was based on her glowing remarks. We have not been disappointed.
We also found a beautiful five year-old chestnut gelding by the name of Light Artillery (aka "Artie") at the race track. After vetting him out, he was put on the trailer to come home to begin training for a new career as a sport horse. Watch for new photo pages of these horses soon! Congratulations Elisa Wallace and Imtiaz AneesDuring our buying trip to Kentucky, we were lucky enough to catch two of our favorite trainers competiting against each other last weekend. They were both at the Champagne Run 3-Day event held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.
Equestrian Olympian rider, Imtiaz Anees and Elisa Wallace competed in the Intermediate and Training Divisions. The competition was tough, but both riders finished in the top six in the Intermediate division with Imti finishing fifth on Freetown and Elisa finishing sixth on Jackson. We are very proud of our Bits & Bytes Farm trainers.
Happy Anniversary Marie and Lise! One year ago, on July 18, 2004, boarder and "Friend" Marie van Roekel bought a Prospect Horse directly from the trainer at the track. Elizabeth picked out Two Thumbs Up and suggested Marie go take a look and pick him up. It has been a match made in heaven.
Last weekend Marie van Roekel and Two Thumbs Up competed in a show and won first and second place ribbons for their jumping abilities. We are extremely proud of the skills acquired in the last year for both horse and rider.
Also, one year ago, on July 18, 2004, Lise Matte bought Fort Mason who was Elizabeth's first true rescue horse back in 2000. Fort Mason came to her through New Vocations. They do a terrific job finding and matching ex-race horses to new homes. New Vocations places both Thoroughbreds like Fort Mason and Standardbreds (trotters and pacers). Fort Mason still lives with us at Bits & Bytes Farm.
Call or come by for a visitPlease call us to discuss which horse might be the best match for you based on riding skill, experience and equine personality. We do not send out videos because it is important to match the personality of the horse with the personality of the rider. We are matchmakers, not horse brokers. We have horses in a wide price range. Call us to discuss prices or to schedule an appointment. We'd love to have you come meet all of our horses--we know that it will be worth your time. Just bring peppermints!
