Banker continues to amaze me with his easygoing personality (my
daughter and I can see why everyone at the track called out “Hey
Banker” when they saw him – we do the same thing!)
He happily stands to be groomed and blanketed in his paddock with
no halter and follows us around like a puppy dog. He didn’t
move a muscle for the farrier and was an absolute gentleman for
the vet. I’m having his teeth done and a chiropractic exam
next week.
We’ve tacked him up and my daughter walked him around
the indoor (and he was great), but we’re not going to do
much until I have his tendon looked at again. He has a very small
paddock off his stall and I turn him out in a slightly larger paddock
during the day. He has his occasional thoroughbred moment but nothing
too dramatic or long-lived!
Thanks again for all of your help.
We’ll be in touch ….

Hi Elizabeth. I wanted to let you know that Banker arrived late
Saturday afternoon. He had a tough trailer ride (20-plus hours)
and reportedly didn’t relax until just a couple of hours
before his arrival, but he was quiet and in good shape when he
got off the trailer. I have attached a photo of him and my 15-year-old
daughter taken about an hour after he got here.
He has happily settled
into our farm life and is content to watch the world go by from
the paddock attached to his stall. I’ve
taken him for several walks and let him roll in the sand in the
round pen, but the tendon that was injured last fall has been warm
and puffy (no doubt from him bracing himself for all those hours
on the trailer) so he doesn’t get to do much. He is very
affectionate and loves to be groomed so I’ve spent quite
a bit of time pampering him. (I unwrapped a peppermint yesterday
for another horse in the barn, and Banker quite vocally let me
know that he likes peppermints, too!)
Banker’s prospect profile
said he was “classy and
kind,” and those two words describe him perfectly. What a
cool horse!
We’ll keep you updated …. Many thanks for
your help.
