Lucky loves to ride in the aisle of our 4-Star head to head horse trailer. He was watching to see that Jan and Elizabeth were keeping up with the other trailer on the way to our x-country schooling. - Photo by Marie Van Roekel.

training> training notes from elizabeth > april 18, 2004This is the page where Elizabeth and Barry will share training tips and give updates on the horses currently in training at the farm. Sunday's Training Session - X-Country!Each Sunday the boarders and the "Friends of Bits & Bytes Farm" do a group training lesson. We grab every horse and rider at the farm and work on our grids and jumping with Elizabeth as instructor, June as jump crew and Jan as photographer. This week we took the training off site to Oxer Farm the home of our good friends Jean and Sandra Carnet.
Joe Bear
Joe Bear showed Paula that he is more than just a dressage horse. He was not too sure of these new fences at first but he got the hang of it and took Paula around the course like a seasoned campaigner. "Lucky"
Lucky was doing double duty today as student and instructor's mount. He would follow along next to and behind the riders with Elizabeth giving encouragement and suggestions before having to do the jumps himself.
Lucky is fearless and never refused a fence all day. He loves to jump and needed to not be quite so quick to the fences. He learned that he could jump the fence at many different speeds. He is always light in the mouth and quick to respond. Lucky is one of the most fun horses we have ever had. He rode in the middle of the trailer once again with his head out the door like a dog. Nothing upsets this horse. He is eager to please. Lucky is one of Elizabeth's favorites. Watch out, he could end up on the "Special Reserve" page! Fort Mason
Fort Mason proves there is life after racing and it does not just mean trail riding. Fort Mason was ready to jump any fence on the course and he proved to Lise that he could. Broadway Joe
Intrepid TreyBits & Bytes Farm boarders, Trey and Mandy, made it all look so easy. What a pretty picture they make together. We have these photos thanks to Mandy's mom Jan. Big Money
Captain AriasCaptain Arias has continued his training with Elizabeth at Bits & Bytes Farm. Imtiaz Anees comes on Wednesdays to teach lessons and give suggestions to keep Captain tuned up. Captain is available for showing at our farm. Please call to schedule an appointment.
